Free Classroom Valentines

Last year around this time, I offered my very first printable (also Valentines, see below). It took me a while to realize it, but it only makes sense! I personally love freebies and am always scouring Pinterest to find printables for my own kids to use. And as a stationery designer, I often have many cute illustrations that end up going nowhere. Instead of letting them hide on my computer, I’m going to get better about sharing them.

Puzzle Fun!

I just turned some of my new art into puzzles! Zazzle is such a great retailer for a self-employed artists. If you have an idea for a product you can launch it almost immediately. Being stuck inside lately, I’ve lost motivation to create my usual party invitations. I know we’ll be back to normal soon, but until then, I’ll be focusing on things that make our lives inside a little better. I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy!

DIY Travel Binder

My husband and I have always loved a good road trip. We could drive all day, no problem! BUT then we had kids!! We still love road tripping, but it takes a little more prep than it used to. The kids just need to have a variety of things to do (and ALL the snacks). I’ve found making individual travel binders helps out a ton! It’s really not much work at all, and they love them so much. They truly look forward to them each trip.

Typically I find all of my printables on Pinterest, but this year, I decided to make some of my own and share them. Simply print them out, and stick them in a binder with some plastic sleeves. I usually include a three ring pencil case filled with crayons and a few pencils (because you know at least one of those pencils is going under the seat). Enjoy!

My Art on Minted

I have been a Minted artist for almost 10 years! I can’t believe it!! It has been a wonderful journey, and I love working with them. If you are unfamiliar with the company, please check them out. They are doing an amazing job supporting artists and designers all around the world.

As my collection of art with them keeps growing, and I wanted to take a moment to highlight some of my favs.

Wild World Map This one is extra special to me! It was a first-place winner in a Minted & Pottery Barn Challenge, and it is currently for sale at both retailers. There were over 5,000 entries, and I’m still in shock!

Is it obvious I love to draw maps! I think it has something to do with my love of travel. I’m constantly daydreaming of where my family will be heading to next. Any suggestions? Please comment below.

Hello! Welcome to my very first blog post. Yikes!!! Please bear with me.

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, and although I’m not a super fan of the stereotypical Valentine’s Day. I don’t need a box of candy or overpriced flowers, I’m way too thrifty to enjoy that! I do love spending the day with my family, and as a momma, I love a good classroom Valentine’s Day party.

As an illustrator, designing valentines for kids is one of my all-time favs. Adorable characters and lots of puns, sign me up! Here’s a sample of some of the cards I have for sale at Minted.

Around our house, we love a good DIY project, so last year for Valentine’s Day my girls colored bookmarks to hand out, and my son made some fun thumbprint illustrations. Each one of his classmates received a very unique drawing. I was so impressed!
